When it comes to getting started with weight loss, people tend to have a lot of excuses. Changing your exercise and eating habits when you are used to eating whatever you want can be hard, especially when just starting a weight loss diet. This challenge alone can make you feel defeated, which makes it even easier for you to find an excuse not to do it.
But the truth is, most excuses don’t really cut it, and not one of them has any power to stop your transformation. Your body deserves to feel happy and healthy, and it starts by eliminating excuses such as these:
But I like, LOVE food!
Omg, you love food? No way! I mean, let’s be real – there aren’t a lot of people out there who don’t love food. When it comes to dieting, it’s all about willpower. Every bite is a choice. You can still eat, you just have to be more conscious about your choices! There are plenty of delicious foods you can eat while you lose weight, so this excuse isn’t going to cut it!
I don’t have time to workout.
Uh, newsflash: nobody has time to workout. Most of us have jobs, families, and chores to do every day that takes up most of our time. But a day has a full 24 hours in it, so it is about making time for the things that are important to us. And if losing weight is important to you, you will find the time – not an excuse!
Eating healthy is soooo expensive!
Ok, unfortunately, I have to agree with this one. Eating healthy is definitely pricey, especially if you are trying to go the whole organic, GMO-free route. These foods typically cost more, but you still have plenty of other options that are healthy, even if they aren’t organic. So don’t get discouraged, just clip coupons, shop grocery sales, buy in bulk and make healthy recipes at home to help you save money and excuses!
I will probably just gain it all back anyway…
Blah blah blah – this excuse is the worst! If you look at it a diet, then yea, you will probably gain it back once you hit your goal weight. But if you stop thinking about it being a diet and just make conscious choices, you will be eating healthy, not dieting. This way the weight you lose will become permanent and you won’t be caught up in a yo-yo cycle.
It’s just too hard. I just can’t.
Yes, dieting can be hard, but guess what? Life is hard, but you still manage to make it through each day. The reason dieting can seem like a struggle is because our brain and our stomach often disagree on what we should be eating. But give it enough time, your tummy and mind will start to agree. Eating well will become second nature and you won’t even have to think twice about it. Just don’t psych yourself out before you try!
Consider your excuse busted! Stop thinking about it and get over it. As I stated before, you have the power to transform your life and no one can do it for you. You will encounter foods you shouldn’t be eating from time to time, and be faced with a choice: give in to the craving or stick to your healthy lifestyle plan. The choice is yours!
