Celebrities are known to have major surgery to better their health. Here are some celebrities we know and love who have undergone weight loss surgery to better themselves.


Sharon Osbourne:

Wife of black sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne, talk show host, and mother of three admitted in 1999 that she underwent lap band surgery. She told Entertainment Tonight, “I felt like such a cheat when I had that band on my stomach. It makes you vomit the whole time. Nothing goes down because it goes out.” Osbourne later removed her lap band in 2006 and maintained her weight through dieting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.


Randy Jackson:


“Yo Dawg,” this former American Idol judge has no shame when admitting he had gastric bypass surgery in 2004. After being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, Jackson saw it as a sign to make a change. Today, Jackson maintains his weight through exercise and a proper diet.


Roseanne Barr:


Star of the hit TV sitcom, Roseanne, this "tells it like it is" celebrity has no shame in revealing her weight loss journey. In 1998, Barr had gastric bypass surgery and kept the weight off by making better lifestyle choices. “I’m just doing the things you’re supposed to do,” she said in an interview with US Weekly, “You know, moving more, and eating less.” Catch her slim figure on the Roseanne reboot, premiering on Mar. 27, 2018.


Rosie O’Donnell:


This comedian, actress, and former talk show host admitted weight loss surgery improved her life. After having vertical gastric sleeve surgery in 2013, she told People that her energy went up, her sleep apnea disappeared, and her hunger is not what it used to be. O’Donnell underwent weight loss surgery after experiencing a near-fatal heart attack and doctors strongly recommended she lose weight.


Mama June Shannon:

We all remember Mama June and Honey Boo Boo capturing our attention on the shows Toddlers and Tiaras and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Well, a lot has changed for the reality star. In her new show, Mama June: From Not to Hot, it is revealed Shannon had undergone a series of surgeries to help improve her life. People magazine revealed Shannon underwent gastric sleeve surgery, a tummy tuck, liposuction, arm lift, breast augmentation, skin removal, all totaling $75,000.
